Consumer Guidelines Ratings
The days of blindly accepting an authoritative organizations recommendations as properly evidenced based are coming to an end. The 2011 IOM reports on Trustworthiness and Comparative Effectiveness Systematic Reviews recommended increased quality assessment by AHRQ for inclusion into the Clearinghouse. These standard are beginning to be implemented in June 2014 with only a few of the standards being tracked. The notion of "Trustworthiness" is an emotive assessment of the results of an assumed satisfactory adherence to a complex development process. This is theoretical with no evidence to support the individual components or differential weightings that might be important. The purpose of this forum is to provide knowledgeable clinical guideline consumers the ability to rank adherence to IOM standards and their assessment of "Trustworthiness"
